Just noticed this 1998 Volvo V70R at an upcoming auction. In rough shape. My guess is it sells for $300 tops.

I’ ve checked out that auction numerous times. Never bought from there, but they sometimes have an interesting menagerie.

A couple years ago they had a non-running but extremely nice lowline fintail that I almost stayed to bid on, but chickened out. I probably should have tried.

I’ve bought 2 cars from there. Haven’t been in quite a while as I don’t have room for anymore. They always seem to have at least 1 tempting car and the prices are almost always low. They also have a 2004 BMW 760LI coming up which will probably sell for 3k or so.

Sounds like a real project car hell.

I can recall a few things there that caught my eye - Euro SLC, Euro W126, very clean 190E with a pile of documents - but like you, I have no room, and I probably have less ability and patience to take on a problem child. Still fun to take a peek, if I am in the area on an auction weekend I try to fit a few minutes to browse.

Lovely car. Same color (code 334) as my fintail. 300Sc is the ne plus ultra of postwar non-300SL MBs, and more rare . A bargain at the current bid, real world money on something like this should pass half a million.

You can have too many convertibles though.

Meanwhile at my place it looks like the opening credits of a low budget 80's horror flick.
